I met Hala when she approached me in 2011 for a shortfilm with Chlöe Sevigny and Nash Edgerton. I had done quite a lot of shorts then, but that one sound special for some reason. Hala never thinks the obvious way, she always goes for the bold, the extravagant, the uniqueness. It was refreshing to see her confidence and skill, her incredible vision and her astonishing way of getting people together. On that shoot, a mysterious man came to visit us. Apparently his brother had told him to come... it was Joel Edgerton, the one and only. We started talking and soon we discovered that it would be nice to work together on his debut feature as a director, The Gift. He has become a friend and one of the most important person for my career. Thanks to Hala and Joel I have done 6 movies!! So, being able to do one of her first commercials is a joy. Hala is an unbelievable person, always full of surprises and with an incredible inherent talent. Let's raise some glasses for many more of those!!
