I've always loved basketball. I was actually a decent player when I was young. But history goes that at some point in my life I had to decide between basketball or follow my new dream of becoming a filmmaker... and you can tell what I choose. Lucky me! I am so happy to be making films instead of having retired from a mediocre hoop career.
And then, thanks to the one and only Joel Edgerton, I met Gavin and we got along and we made this character movie with a lot of basketball. But it is a lot more than that. It is about addiction, loss, love and the meaning of it all. With that familiar face that is Ben Affleck but with a performance that you've never seen before. I was amazed by Ben's acting, you could totally tell that the material was close to his heart.
We were lucky to have an amazing crew so I hope we did something good like they deserve. Thank you all of you out there!
